A New Voice: The Burberry Knight on Threads
A Burberry hero, brought to life for the digital age.
Context
As Burberry expanded onto Threads, there was an opportunity to define a distinct tone of voice for the platform – one that felt conversational and culturally relevant, while still rooted in the brand’s heritage.
Idea
Reimagine the Burberry Knight, one of the brand’s most iconic symbols, as a living voice on Threads – an unexpected narrator bringing a sense of wit, character and modern Britishness to the platform. Instead of traditional brand messaging, the Knight became a persona: observant, dry, subtly humorous and grounded in London culture.
This allowed Burberry to show up on Threads in a way that felt native, distinctive and human.
Execution
Developed the Knight’s tone of voice for Threads, balancing heritage with a more contemporary, conversational style
Wrote platform-native posts reacting to cultural moments, weather and everyday London observations
Created a consistent character voice that could flex across moments while remaining recognisably Burberry
Helped establish Threads as a space for lighter, more immediate brand expression
Outcome
Introduced a new dimension to Burberry’s social voice
Increased engagement through more conversational, character-led content
Created a recognisable and ownable tone specific to Threads
